Goodbye, Tony Snow
From Fox News:
Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, died after a long bout with cancer. He was 53.
A syndicated columnist, editor, TV anchor, radio show host and musician, Snow worked in nearly every medium in a career that spanned more than 30 years.
Such a bad loss. I was shocked to hear this, as I hadn't heard anything recently about his relapse, and I think many of us assumed things were fine and under control. Lots of people will be praying and thinking about his family this weekend, that's for sure.
What made Tony Snow such a favorite of mine was the soft-spoken way he analyzed the news of the day. When he joined the White House as press secretary, he transformed the administration's PR machine from on the defensive to on the offensive, and not a day too soon when Bush saw some of his darkest days.
Most importantly, I think anyone who watched Tony on TV knew he was a conservative man that loved his family, his country, and his job. A very bad loss, indeed.
