Friday, Mike and I jumped aboard the remains of a failing, bloated staple of American enterprise—Amtrak—and rode it all the way to New York City to impose conservative order there. And, you know, to visit Editor Emeritus Douglas. Look, Mike even promoted Collegiate Network atop the Empire State Building:
Quote of the Weekend arrives via our foreign waitress at Big Nick's Burger and Pizza: "I just don't trust that Obama."
We had an excellent weekend and did plenty of bro-friendly activities, but let's get the first thing out of the way. With the aid of the Staten Island Ferry, we caught a glimpse of the Torch's coy mistress, Lady Liberty (we caught much closer glimpses, actually, but we all look a little wind-swept in those photos):
We also ran into this badass at the Museum of Natural History:
There, we saw the most important things: elephants, planets, and dinosaurs. We concluded that if birds got together and brought the dinosaurs back, we'd all be screwed. Nevertheless, the number one threat remains at large:
Bears. After that, we hit up a super sweet burger joint called Jackson Hole on the Upper East Side, featuring gigantic burgers, several Bob Seger songs, and some of the only...er...heavier people I saw all weekend. A real man's place, is what I'm saying. This was totally a conservative's weekend: pizza, the roof of the New York Athletic Club, Empire State Building, dinosaurs, burgers, the Staten Island Ferry, Ground Zero, The Dark Knight, and the Brooklyn Bridge:
There were even cupcakes.
A great weekend is what I'm saying—huge thanks to our host, Mr. Douglas Kurdziel. Look for a novella-length Dark Knight review from Mike sometime soon.
