Sarah Palin. America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag. New York: Harper, 2010, 304p. ——— Sarah Palin believes that American conservatism is an idea worth defending, as evident in this collection of reflections on the virtues of her country. Her values, “family, faith, and flag,” are what makes her proud to be an [...]
As tea party activists descend on Nashville the first weekend of February to attend the first National Tea Party Convention, mainstream media coverage will no doubt be focused on two aspects: Sarah Palin’s speech and the controversy regarding the convention’s very existence.
Mike and I are now in the WRVU lineup, batting right after Liberadio Monday mornings at 9am CT on 91.1 FM WRVU. You know this already if you have spoken to one of us in the past month or follow us on Twitter because we’re incapable of not mentioning it. Anyway, here’s the audio from [...]
Sarah Palin doesn’t. Alaska would like you to know: Gov. Sarah Palin must pay income taxes on thousands of dollars in expense money she received while living at her Wasilla home, under a new determination by state officials. The governor’s office wouldn’t say this week how much she owes in back taxes for meal money, [...]
One of our CN brethren, Patrick J. Ford of the GW Patriot, (partly) reposts this from Young Americans for Liberty: Palin. Jindal. Crist. Sanford. Pawlenty. Remember where these faux conservatives stood when it counted in 2012. Can the Jindal love finally end now? It can never end — never! When winter comes in summer, when [...]
I will not tell lies: I tried to throw this in the comments to Mike’s post, but evidently comments don’t like Dolores Umbridge. Those cats are always watching you. Does Sarah Palin’s magical oval office get to be the Minerva McGonagall here?
Apparently, some people really aren’t feeling the name Bristol Palin bestowed upon her son, born Saturday morning. Wendy Sullivan of Culture11: “In keeping up with the ‘silly names’ meme in the Palin household, new mother Bristol (named after the boards used in school projects) gave birth to her healthy baby boy today. Weighing in at [...]
Dave Barry rolls out his Year in Review for 2008 in the Washington Post. Always good for a laugh, Barry also has a libertarian streak running through his witty and sharp commentary on America. Alas, there seems to be little to no mention of exploding toilets in 2008. This isn’t change I can believe in. [...]
Forgive me if this seems repetitive, but I simply cannot stand seeing more and more supposed "news" stories discussing the wardrobes of the women involved with the presidential campaigns. Just a mere five hours ago, the AP released an article that originally appears to have been intended to discuss Michelle Obama's interview with Jay Leno on [...]
Like she does, Nancy Sinatra imparted some wisdom unto us all in 1967: “You only live twice… one life for yourself, and one for your dreams.” Sarah Palin, the conservative folk hero, will live twice. Our current Palin remains raw and imperfect, yet dazzling; the Palin of 2012 could very well be a titan.
Over the weekend, an anonymous McCain campaign staffer derided Palin to Politico’s Ben Smith as “a diva. She takes no advice from anyone…she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: divas trust only unto themselves.”
Curiously, Palin has succeeded largely since she reportedly began evading her Bush handlers following the burial of the dead known as the Katie Couric interview. But, more importantly, Junior Mint here fails to recognize one inalienable truth: Sarah Palin is the future of the party.
